SERVICES & TreatmentsThere are different ways to balance the body. Acupuncture is the most common modality in the United States. I offer several different kinds of Chinese Medicine treatments. Each treatment is determined by your specific needs.
Treatments TreatmentsAcupunctureAcupuncture is a technique in which sterile, flexible needles are placed in points found along the channels or meridians that run throughout the entire body. The number of needles used for each treatment depends upon each patient's diagnosis. Acupuncture can strengthen the immune system, enhance circulation, regulate hormones, increase energy, and reduce stress. Chinese HerbsChinese Herbs come from plant, animal, and mineral sources. Individual formulas are developed to meet each person's own health needs. This is based on their diagnosis from their history, tongue observation, and pulse palpation. A combination of up to 20 herbs can be used to give the correct balance in an individual formula. I use herbal powders that can be mixed with food or consumed as a tea. CuppingCupping is a technique in which a glass, plastic, or bamboo jar is attached to the body by suction or negative pressure. This technique warms and promotes the free flow of Qi and blood in the meridians. It is mainly used for arthritis; pain in the lower back, shoulders, neck, and the common cold. Electro acupunctureElectro acupuncture is a technique in which small positive (+) and negative (-) clips from a small battery powered machine are attached to already inserted acupuncture needles. A tiny, painless electrical current is sent through the needles you may feel a slight tingling sensation with this treatment. This technique has been shown to decrease pain, accelerate tissue healing; reduce inflammation, edema, and swelling. MoxibustionMoxibustion is a Chinese herb called mugwort or Artemisa Vulgaris. It is used to warm the meridians and expel cold by providing heat to points or certain locations of the body. Tuina MassageTuina is a Traditional Chinese style massage. It can be used in conjunction with acupuncture, or alone to enhance treatments especially in patients with musculoskeletal problems. "I had been suffering with a head cold for weeks and was skeptical about acupuncture. I decided to try it when I had difficulty breathing, couldn't sleep and became irritable. As soon as Jane inserted two needles I felt so much relief, I could breathe normally. I couldn't believe it. I felt great and now am a true believer in acupuncture."...

"I have been a dancer for 12 years and developed severe bilateral knee pain which debilitated me. I went to several doctors to help me with this pain. I had arthroscopic surgery and no cause for my pain was found. The surgery made my pain worse. I was unable to walk or even bend my knees without severe pain. I had four acupuncture treatments from Jane and now able to walk without pain, go to the gym and back to work. I finally feel my age, 21 years old. Thank you Jane!"... Jen F. Acushnet, MA
